Location: High School
Shift/Hours: Tuesday through Friday from 2:30 p.m. - 11 p.m and Saturday 10-6:30 (could include multiple building coverage on Saturdays).
Monday through Friday; 7:00 a.m. - 3:30 p.m (during the summer)
SUMMARY:
Maintain a clean and neat school facility and grounds for students, teachers, staff and members of the community in order to protect their health and safety.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Clean designated spaces, equipment and materials
- Perform room and equipment set-up and breakdown for activities and events
- Perform seasonal athletic fields and general grounds work
- Perform general labor functions including unloading bulk material from trucks
- Maintain building and grounds security
- Report building, grounds, and equipment conditions that may need remedied or repaired
- Participate in fire and emergency drills, know emergency procedures and the location and use of first-aide and fire fighting equipment
- Move furniture and equipment
- Assists visitors utilizing the facilities
- Responsible for the preservation and maintenance of assigned tools and equipment, as well as assist in the repair of equipment and facilities
- Operate various floor equipment, including battery-powered auto-scrubbers/buffers and high-speed/high torque propane burnishers
- Perform snow-removal, both operation of fuel-powered snow removal equipment and manual removal using shovel
- Perform other duties as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS & ABILITIES:
- Minimum of one (1) year work experience as a custodian and/or groundskeeper.
- High School diploma or GED certificate.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with co-workers, students, staff, administrators and community members.
- Exhibit effective communication skills.
- Being proper stewards of district property, materials and equipment.
- Work with a sense of urgency and ability to meet deadlines with severe time constraints.
- Ability to perform duties with an awareness of all inspection regulations, safety codes and district requirements and school board policies.
Successful candidate will be required to take post-offer; pre-employment drug test and work capacity evaluation ("WCE"). The WCE includes various physical attributes including push, pull, lift and carry.
